Robin Hood 10k October 10th 2010

Robin Hood 10k in Sherwood Forest Notts. You couldnt really get a nicer location than this, its a trail run within the forest. The 10k is 2 loops the 5k race is run at the same time and they just do one loop. It was quite strange doing the same loop twice..it made the race feel longer somehow. Nice place for a picnic too afterwards.
My time was 54.16 not too bad considering the stitch that plagued me again

York 10k 1st August 2010

York 10k race is run in aid of Jane Thomlinson and is very popular having over 6000 runners. Great event that starts and finishes in the grounds of York racecourse. Course is flat and runs through the town centre and along side the river. The route also takes you right past the Minster whose bells were chiming as I ran past giving me a heart warming boost. Supporters were everywhere and really cheered everyone on.
Got a PB on this course at 51.42 which was brilliant. Thanks to Lee for waiting for me and cheering me on x

Chatsworth 10k May 2010

This 10k is set in the grounds of Chatsworth House and is in aid of Helens trust, a charity dedicated to providing palliative care to terminally ill patients.
The course was incredibly hard at least half of the race is a steep uphill climb..it seemed to go on for ever and ever. When you finally get to go down hill its so steep and gravelly you cant pick up pace to regain any lost time. I was plagued with stitch from the start, probably due to the uphill from the off ! However I really enjoyed the race and will definitely enter again this year. Need to get there early again as it was packed and the area around Chatsworth quickly gets congested especially on a red hot day like it was for this one. My time was 58.11....slow but on a race like that glad to be under the 60 min mark !! Enjoyed a paddle at the end in the river !
